On August 31, 187 new undergraduate students joined the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering. To establish cooperation between their families and school, the College held a meeting between teachers and parents. Presided by Wang Qing, new counselor of Class 2019, this welcome meeting was a great success with the attendance of Prof. Xiu Guangli, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Prof. Wang Hualin, dean of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Prof. Rao Zhixiong and Cao Na, deputy secretaries of the Party Committee, Prof. Sun Xianbo, Sun Yuzhu and Chen Xueli, deputy dean of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Prof. Zhang Lehua, head of the Department of Environmental Engineering, Prof. Zhang Suping, head of the Department of Energy Chemical Engineering, and all class tutors and parents of the new students.

First of all, Prof. Xiu Guangli expressed his warm welcome to all the parents. He stated that the college would continue to encourage students to actively participate in social practice, and would further promote international cooperation and exchanges to provide students with better quality and more comprehensive learning resources. He also pointed that parents should still pay attention to their children’s growth and study, and cooperate with school to ensure the students have a healthy life and a bright future.

The introduction of of the  Departments of Environmental Engineering and Energy Chemical Engineering were given by Prof. Zhang Lehua and Zhang Suping, respectively. After that, Prof. Sun Xianbo introduced the relevant management regulations of undergraduate teaching and the policies of general enrollment and major diversion. Prof. Sun Yuzhu presented the international exchange programs of the University and the school. Prof. Wang Yifei, on behalf of the class supervisors, shared the experience in helping students’ growth.

At last, Prof. Wang Hualin talked about the basic facts about the school and college, the scale of disciplines, the number of teachers and students, the qualified personnel team, scientific research base, training programs, etc. He earnestly hoped that all the students can adapt to the college life as soon as possible and be a practical, diligent and innovative learner with the ability to study efficiently and independently. At the same time, he called on all parents to keep in touch with tutors to gain a better understanding of the children’s college life in the next four years, and work together to to train and educate the students.
